Kim Delaney was an American actress. She is most famous for her role as the detective Diane Russell, in the ABC drama series NYPD Blue. For this she was awarded the Emmy Award. Her credits include All My Children Philly CSI: Miami & Army Wives. As the sole daughter to a top executive from the United Auto Workers and a housewife, Delaney had a family of four brothers. She envisioned being a reporter for the court in her early years, but began modeling at high school, eventually earning commercials when she moved into New York. In her teens, her first role as an actress was in the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. The career of Delaney has been filled with a variety of television shows and dramas. While she has a successful professional life, Delaney's personal life is not happy and prosperous. She is talented and gorgeous, has struggled with addiction to alcohol before. Her marriages have also been unsuccessful twice. She lost custody of her son in 2005.
